The Beginning of Rescued Garden Mania

Our passion for collecting and arranging is soon to be moving outdoors.  Before the garden is ever planned we begin the hunt for its furnishings ~ old, chippy peeling painted chairs and tables, tools, fences, wagons, barrows, gates, birdbaths, trellises, and vases. Our search begins in other people's yard sales and garages, flea markets, junk shops, and the once in a life time side-of-the-road giveaways!!

Gardeners, this is the time of year to be on the lookout for artful ways to show off your prized tomatoes.

Virginia Shawver of The Rusty Bird at The Mad Hatter Vintage Flea Market filled beautiful vintage bowls with hens and chicks & a baby bird nest...so cute!!
Love planting old tomatoes in vintage galvanized buckets, and then propping them on old tiffany blue garden chairs!!

Our vision of the Hanging Gardens includes old rusty galvanized siphons, love that it already has a proper drainage hole.
*Easy to make with a little wire for the hangers.

Collections!! Alarm clocks that no longer tick tock, mix-and-match salt & pepper shakers, What speaks to your soul????

Wh
Alarm clocks that no longer tick-tock we adore! All shapes, sizes, colors, and the fat numbers!!

We love to set a table with mix-and- match salt & pepper shakers, it is not only economical, but downright fun and creative! Many collectors will add a little bit of silver to liven up the table.

February the month of Romance

Oh My Goodness month number 2 of the New Year!!! February the month of Love and Romance!

I'm loving the vintage romantic touches of paper, crocheted doilies and beautiful lace that can be added to any room to give an elegant and romantic look.

A while back, before Christmas we were was droolling over the Anthro Catalog and fell in love with the many beautiful wreaths. Gorgeous!!! Like so many others out there like us, we thought that we might have to sell our soul to pay the price that they wanted, especially because we knew we could make them!
The first one was made from coffee filters, Celia and I tea stained and hand tied each one to the wreath, this one hangs in my guest bedroom with a wide burlap ribbon. They are so addicting...... Celia and I made several more, they were all sold during the month of December. After making them we realized we should have taken pictures along the way for a tutorial.
We are creating a few wreaths for spring and plan on taking pictures along the way!
I hope you will add a little romance in your home this month....celebrate the month of Love!!!
